I hope you had a wonderful, filling Thanksgiving. Ours, as usual, was very busy and enjoyable.
Audrey looked adorable in her turkey shirt that I made from this
I never got the chance to make Ava's (sorry, baby! - you'll get your Christmas shirt first :) )
My mom and I actually made a shirt/onesie for my niece and nephew, but she hasn't sent pictures yet (hint, hint, Val - if you're reading this!!)
I'll post them whenever I get them!

Happy Halloween - Audrey's Costume
Audrey was absolutely positive what she wanted to be for Halloween..months before it was time.
She wanted to be a Purple Tinkerbell. Which of course doesn't exist, even in the most creative and unique costume stores.
So this was my first year attempting to sew a costume. I got the pattern (Simplicity 2872), got approval (from Audrey) on the proper material and sat down to try a read the pattern.
And it turned out not to be so bad. Don't get me wrong, I spent a good amount of time with my seam ripper, but, I learned a lot and all in all it went together nicely.
I did cheat and bought the wings - those seemed out of my league. They turned out to be horrible and fell over all the time.
But, most importantly - Audrey loved it! She danced around the room for hours when I finished it, I had to hide it until Halloween so she wouldn't ruin it before the big day.

Ghost Dresses
It's been a whirlwind of a month, I've hardly had time to post much. But I've got a lot to show off! Be patient, I'll get it all up here soon!
I found the cutest ghost dresses here and I just had to try my hand in it..
Here's how I did (sorry about the pics - its soo hard to keep the girls still!)
They went together so easily and came out so cute, I had to make them for my friends girls....

Audrey's Purple Polka Dot Party
For her 4th birthday, Audrey had decided she wanted a purple polka dot party, complete with purple polka dot room, dress, balloons and cake.
It took a little bit of work, but we managed..

The cake (which is in the back, I can't find my closeup picture of it) is made by my mother
The purple polka dot dress I sewed. A little big, so I guess it will fit her for many years to come!
And the favors..trick or treat bags (with a few goodies inside)

Shirt Refashioned
My first attempt at refashioning a shirt. Actually it is more of a light sweater. Its been sitting in my closet never seeing the light of day, but it never fit me right, so there it sat, in the dark and alone :(
This morning, I asked Audrey if I should make it into a dress for her. She responded with a resoundig "YES! and I want to wear it to school today!!"
great...
so, I tried.....
here's the before picture....
She picked the tights out that she swears that they match....I think it would look better with a belt- but she would have none of it. Her dress, her style, I guess..
Anyway, it wasn't that bad. It was pretty easy, I just kept allowing for extra, which kept making it too big.
All and in all, she loves it - I'm happy. The sweater is happy..

A boring, lifeless sweater.....
So, I cut and sewed and cut and sewed then I measured...and cut and sewed. Lesson learned...
but, I got it done before school!

Art Smocks
My little girl is growing up so fast! She starts Pre-Kindergarden this year.
We received her list of supplies this week. She had to have a long sleeved art smock. And of course, I had to try and make it. And of course, I couldn't just make one for Audrey - I had to make one for her best friends too!
I came up with a brilliant idea (if I do say so myself) of using a pajama pattern that I had laying around (Butterick B4910). Basically doing a long sleeved night shirt, cutting the back and adding ribbons.
I soo hate to see them get pain splatter on them - but that is the purpose, isn't it?
Nicole was happy about her new smock - she can't wait to paint!)
Brett looks like Ralphie in The Christmas Story when he got the fuzzy pink bunny pj's :(
He wasn't real thrilled about his - hopefully he'll like it when he gets to paint!
Wyatt & Sammy were camera shy - but I managed to get some pics before I gave it to them -
Trying the Blog Thing Again
So, I'm going to try this blogging thing again.
I love doing all sorts of crafts and I love to show them off. So, here they are.
Someday I'll go back and do a write up on each one, but I'll start with just pics.
